FAQs
What are alpargatas?
Alpargatas are traditional Spanish shoes, often equated with espadrilles. They are typically flat with a flexible sole, making them comfortable casual shoes. Alpargatas have a long history and are widespread in many countries around the Mediterranean, particularly Spain, France, Latin America, and other parts of Southern Europe.
How do I find the right size?
Measure your foot length and check the size chart. The sole can be 1 cm longer. Also, check the width (measured at the widest point).
Why don't the Tags espadrilles have a straw sole?
The problem with straw soles is that they often don't hold together very well and they don't tolerate moisture well, let alone washing. Tags espadrilles, on the other hand, have a proper shoe sole, with an insole and a rubber outsole, so getting wet is absolutely no problem; they can even be washed in the washing machine!
Does the fabric stretch over time?
A little, but not too much. The sturdy hems and double fabric mean that the top stretches a bit, but doesn't lose its shape.
Why does Tags use polyester fabric and not cotton?
Several advantages can arise when using polyester fabrics in fabric shoes compared to cotton:
Water resistance :
Polyester is generally more water-resistant than cotton. This means that fabric shoes made of polyester are less susceptible to water damage and offer better protection against moisture.
Quick-drying :
As mentioned earlier, polyester dries faster than cotton. Therefore, fabric shoes made of polyester can dry more quickly after contact with moisture, reducing the risk of mold growth or unpleasant odors.
Durability:
Polyester is generally more robust and resistant to wear and tear than cotton. This means that fabric shoes made of polyester can last longer and are less prone to rips, holes, or snagging.
Ease:
Polyester is a lightweight material, which helps make fabric shoes made from it less heavy and bulky. This can improve comfort, especially for shoes worn for extended periods.
Ease of care:
Polyester fabrics are often easier to care for than cotton and can be cleaned more easily. They are less likely to absorb stains and can usually be washed in a washing machine without any problems.
Color brilliance:
Polyester fibers absorb dyes better than cotton. As a result, printed polyester fabrics often have more vibrant and durable colors that last even after multiple washes. This makes them ideal for canvas shoes with eye-catching or intricate designs.
Print definition:
Polyester fabrics have a smoother surface than cotton, which contributes to clearer and more detailed prints. Fine details and lines are rendered better on polyester fabrics, resulting in an overall higher-quality print appearance.
Colorfastness:
Polyester fabrics are often more resistant to fading and bleaching from sunlight or washing compared to cotton. This means that the colors of prints on polyester fabrics last longer and are less prone to loss of vibrancy.
These advantages make polyester fabrics a popular choice in canvas shoes, especially for outdoor activities or in conditions requiring increased durability and moisture resistance.
Why are some soles stitched and others not?
They simply use different methods in the workshop; some still sew the outsole, and some don't. However, all soles are glued and hold extremely well, regardless of whether they are sewn or not.
Does the hem on the outsole come undone over time?
Yes, the hem will come undone here and there after a lot of running, but it's not a defect or problem, because the outsoles are also glued and will still hold up.
Why are espadrilles so cool and casual?

What do I need to consider when buying shoes for my children?
When buying shoes for children, there are several factors to consider to ensure that the shoes fit well and are appropriate for their little feet. Here are a few tips:
- Fit : The shoes should fit well, neither too tight nor too loose. Make sure there is enough room for your toes so they can move freely.
- Flexibility : The shoes should be flexible and soft enough to allow the feet to move naturally.
- Closure : Choose shoes with a suitable closure system that is easy to use, depending on the child's age and abilities. Slippers with elastic inserts make it easy for children to put on and take off their shoes, promoting their independence.
- Toe room : Make sure there is enough space in the toe area so that the toes can move freely without hitting the front of the shoe.
- Durability : Choose good quality shoes that can withstand your child's activities. Children can often put their shoes through a lot, so it's important that they are durable.
What is the easiest way to measure my children's feet?
- Use a measuring device: A foot measuring device, available in many shoe stores, is a simple and accurate method to measure the length and width of your child's feet.
- Paper method : Place a sheet of paper on the floor and have your child stand on it. Then trace the outline of their feet with a pen. Next, measure the longest point from the heel to the longest toe. Repeat this process for both feet, as they are often different sizes.
- Ruler : Use a ruler or measuring tape to measure the length of the foot from the heel to the longest toe. Make sure your child is standing upright and has their weight evenly distributed during the measurement.
- Room for growth : When determining shoe size, allow extra space for foot growth. It is recommended to leave approximately 0.5-1 cm of extra space at the toe.
Example:
Child's foot: 19 cm
Extra space: +1 cm
Total sole length: 20 cm
